Case Study: PPG testing and guideline development – 1
The task
- Our client wished to support medical education activity on postprandial glucose (PPG) testing in order to cascade messages pivotal to their diabetes self-monitoring kits in a co-ordinated approach in key European territories
- The upcoming European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) Congress was selected to launch this medical education programme as part of a long-term advocacy development strategy to cultivate key stakeholders
The solution
- We executed three innovative lunchtime meetings on our client's stand at the EASD 2007 Congress as a means of encouraging interaction and debate on the importance of PPG in the context of the new International Diabetes Federation (IDF) guidelines launched at EASD, using the latest technology available and mobilizing top international speakers on the faculty
- Phase IV identified post-meeting initiatives that would provide further education in local countries on the major issues and cascading the key messages surrounding PPG testing
